Rebekka Ósk Gunnarsdóttir

Rebekka is one of the partners at OPUS Legal Services. She  received her master's degree in law from the University of Iceland in 2020 and became an attorney in 2021.

Experience

In parallel with her studies, Rebekka worked for Icelandic Health Insurance and Ministry of Transport and Local Government and also the Ministry of Justice. At the Ministry of Justice, Rebekka was an intern and also a summer job as a law student.

Rebekka was an assistant teacher in general law and she also assisted the teacher of the Faculty of Law in writing new study material for a research project under the auspices of the Law Institute.

After graduation, Rebekka has written a report with Trausti Fannar Valsson, associate professor of administrative law, on the right of appeal in the administration based on her master´s thesis. She has also worked for the Law Institute.

Education

Rebekka graduate from Menntaskólinn við Sund in 2015 and enrolled as a law student at the University of Iceland same year. Rebekka completed a Bachelor´s Degree in Law from the Unitversity of Iceland in 2018, writing a thesis on administrative law.

Rebekka's master's thesis was in the field of administrative law and discussed Comparison of Article 26 of the Administrative Procedures Act nr. 37/1993 and other legal provisions on administrative complaints, with emphasis on administrative appeals committees.

Main areas of practice

Rebekka has taken an active part in the work of Orator, a law student association. She has volunteered with the Orator free legal aid programme while studying at the University of Iceland.
